An Electrical Inspection Condition Report abbreviated as EICR, formerly known as a PIR (Periodic Inspection Report) is undertaken to give our customers an understanding of the condition of their electrical system.

There are many reasons why our customers require an EICR, these can be, but not limited to;

  • Landlord’s electrical safety
  • Change of occupancy within a property (Domestic, Commercial or Industrial)
  • Sudden unexpected increase of power consumption
  • Environmental conditions
  • Misuse of the installation by tenants
  • Proving safe for continued use

It is recommended by BS7671 that an EICR should be carried out at the following intervals:

  • For tenanted properties, every 5 years or at each change of occupancy, whichever is sooner
  • At least every 10 years for an owner-occupied home
  • At least every 5 years for a business
  • 3 years for a caravan
  • Every year for a swimming pool
